BITS™ are simply points that you use to ‘pay’ for items or services you want. They are sent from person to person from an electronic ‘wallet’ on the web app. BITS™ are a short form of ‘Barter Its’ 😀. Have you ever used Canadian Tire ‘money’? It’s the same idea.

To keep it simple: the movement of BITS™ will work much like an e transfer. If Bob cuts your lawn and tells you it will cost 50 BITS™, you will simply send 50 BITS™ from your wallet to Bob’s wallet. Both of you will receive confirmation that the BITS™ moved from your wallet to Bob’s and you go on with your day. It’s that simple.

NOTE: you don’t even have to put anything in the description if you don’t want to just like when you send an e-transfer you may often choose to not put a comment about what it’s for. If you want to say ‘lawn mowing services’, that’s great, but you don’t have to.

This web app is a mash-up of Kijiji, e-transfer (without using money) and Facebook/Instagram/Telegram/WhatsApp or any other social network. There’s nothing else like it on the market.

What do we mean?

How it’s like Kijiji: On the web app you will be able to offer up products or services that you want to sell onto the platform, just like you do on Kijiji or Marketplace and you will be able to look for products or services that you want as well..so you can barter ‘til the cows come home…but it gets better…

How it’s like e-transfer: Instead of using cash/money, you will use BITS™ points to get whatever products or services you want off the platform - NO MONEY NEEDED…. and it gets better…

How it’s like Facebook/Telegram/WhatsApp: You will be able to find people near you to barter with AND to message/connect with. You can find your peeps in your own town! The chat feature is right in the app so you can meet people, message them, barter with them, set up meet-ups, organize a potluck, go for a run or do whatever you want!

The purpose of the chat feature is to do all the above plus give you access to our feature called Groups (baked right into the chat feature) where you can connect with like-minded people. So you’ve been chatting with a potential buyer who wants a product or service from you, but now what do you do? What are next steps? Here are the steps to complete a sale:

Step 1: Get the buyer’s Wallet Number

Ask the buyer (through chat or text) for their Wallet Number — it starts with “WN”.

They can find it under “My Wallet” on their profile, right below their BITS™ balance.

Step 2: Open your wallet

Go to My Wallet and click “Process Sale.”

Step 3: Enter the buyer’s Wallet Number

Type in the Wallet Number the buyer gave you.

Step 4: Confirm their username

Make sure the username that appears matches the person you’re bartering with.

Step 5: Enter the sale details

Type the BITS amount you’re charging.

(Optional) Add a short description of the item or service.

Step 6: Request the BITS™

Click “Request BITS™.”

This sends a request to the buyer to transfer BITS™ to you — they’ll get a notification to approve it.

Step 7: Wait for approval

You’ll see the transaction listed under “Barter Activity” as Pending.

Once the buyer approves the request, the status will change and your wallet balance will increase. (yay!!)

Step 8: View the transaction details

Click the completed barter deal to open “Transaction Details” and see everything recorded.
